What Artful Inspiration and Coaching mean to me...
I believe in fostering an environment where students can thrive at every stage of their creative journeys. Whether you're just starting out or already have some experience under your belt, my coaching sessions are designed to meet you where you are and help you excel.
My goal is to provide personalized guidance and support to each student, understanding that everyone's creative path is unique. Whether you're seeking to enhance your technical skills, explore new mediums, or develop your artistic voice, I am here to nurture your growth and empower you to reach your full potential.
I understand that creativity can sometimes come with its own set of challenges and uncertainties. That's why I focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive space where you can freely express yourself without judgment. I am dedicated to celebrating your successes, no matter how big or small, and offering valuable feedback to fuel your artistic development.
My Motivation
One of my biggest joys in my school and membership is meeting all of you who are learning from me. Bonding and the connection with my students has always been important to me. I love to share what I know and offer ongoing support.
I have had several careers running simultaneously in my (she whispers) over 40 years of being an artist. I graduated with a Commercial Art Certificate in 1978, and I was privileged to return to my home city to replace my dear mentor, Mrs. Len Sandeman, who had taught me everything he could in the 3-year program at Crocus Plain Schools High School in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. I taught high school for the next 30 years.
I have had wonderful success as a high school educator, but I always yearned to do more.
During my years teaching, circumstances dictated I take on a lot of extra work to make ends meet as a single Mom of three highly engaged daughters, involved in many sports and music endeavours.
I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator throughout my teaching career. My eldest daughter and I also spent about 15 years selling my art through the craft market circuit in cities right across Canada until her son was born.
To gain insight into my daughter's perspective and our collaborative efforts, I encourage you to read her blog post. Find it in the main DeloresArt website.
Indeed, my professional journey has been rich and diverse, intertwining various artistic endeavors with my passion for education.
My extensive background as an educator, graphic designer, illustrator, and licensed artist enables me to offer invaluable insights, guidance, and support to aspiring individuals like you.
I am here to share my wisdom, learned through decades of dedication, to help you flourish on your creative path.

Testimonials
"Delores' coaching is as amazing as her teaching. During her coaching sessions, Delores gives you all the necessary information to empower you to take the action steps that will help you focus on what is important to grow your business. She has a wealth of experience in many areas of the business. From art workflows and apps, pitching, to working with agents and POD she knows what to do and meets you where you are at."

"Delores is an amazing teacher and coach! I have experienced both. I have taken Delores’ classes which taught me what I needed to know to create my first product using digital design techniques from one of my ideas. I have been lucky enough to be in a group this fall being led by Delores. She is a wonderful facilitator and really cares about her students. I recently had the opportunity to have some 1:1 coaching time with her. I am new to the digital art world and was struggling with a set-up of a job I was sending to the printer. Delores easily explained the process to me and then went above and beyond by sending me a quick video tutorial. My first proofs are printed, and my new business is getting ready to launch! Thank you Delores!"

"When I began focusing on my art as more than a hobby, I looked for advice from every corner of the internet as well as some local groups. I watched videos, talked to other artists and joined Skillshare. It was on Skillshare that I found Delores. Her classes could not have come at a better time. Unlike other artists, she has been doing this all her life. That makes her art relevant, versatile and trendy. She is incredibly gifted but more importantly, she gives of herself, her talents and her time to help make others better. She is available to answer questions and provide assistance as group coaching or individually.
I cannot say enough about how much I have grown as an artist after working with her. I have learned multiple ways to create art that actually sells and I have gained the confidence to do my own thing, my own way with my own style.
If you have the budget for only 1 instructor to help you with your art or your art business, choose Delores. It will be worth every penny you invest."

"I first discovered Delores on Skillshare when I was searching for Procreate classes. I was thrilled to learn that she also taught Affinity, Photoshop, and Illustrator too. What a find! I quickly signed up for her newsletter and recently joined her School of Art and Design where she has additional classes and an active member community. I have been fortunate to participate in some of Delores’ coaching calls as well. Her vast experiences make these extremely valuable particularly combined with her “ask me anything” approach. I have learned so much from Delores already and look forward to being an on-going member of her school and artist community."
