About This Class
In this Procreate class, you’ll explore a freeform approach to illustration that prioritizes intuition, play, and discovery over planning every detail in advance. This style is especially helpful when you feel stuck, overthinking your work, or wanting to reconnect with a more relaxed way of creating.
We’ll start with loose marks and simple shapes, allowing the illustration to develop organically as you respond to what’s on the canvas. I’ll show you how to make decisions as you go, adjust composition mid-process, and embrace unexpected directions without losing control of the piece.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a finished freeform illustration and a better understanding of how to trust your instincts while still making thoughtful design choices.
In This Class I’ll Walk You Through
- Working intuitively in Procreate
- Starting illustrations without a fixed plan
- Letting shapes and colors guide decisions

The Key Concepts I Will Include
Chunky brushwork, intuitive composition building, erasing as a design tool, stencil-style background creation, colour layering, clipping masks, blending modes, texture application, foreground and background contrast, and finishing with detail.
