About The Class
In the class AD 35 Textured Bird with Geometric Background in Affinity Designer, we will focus on creating a stunning and textured bird illustration using geometric shapes. While the final artwork may appear intricate, you’ll discover that you can achieve this with ease by applying geometric principles, known as Boolean operations in Affinity Designer, and by using the Shapebuilder tool. I’m thrilled to share my workflow for creating such artworks, and this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your portfolio through a variety of illustration projects. I will guide you every step of the way while we add rich textures to our illustration.
You will learn how to fill in different shapes using imported textures, as well as how to apply painterly effects through pixel persona. To ensure clarity and focus, I have simplified the illustration process while still showcasing essential concepts that will help you begin. I hope you’ll create something as captivating as what I present, as you will explore a range of tools and techniques to add intricate details. You will also learn to create a painterly effect in the background using these geometric shapes.
With hands-on exercises and step-by-step demonstrations, you will understand the significance of fine details such as feathers and textures in bringing your bird illustration to life. Additionally, you will experiment with different brush settings and blending modes to develop a unique finish for the geometric background. By the end of the lesson, you will have a beautifully detailed artwork to showcase your newly acquired skills.
